Saddened were his fans when he breathed his last,
A thick pall of gloom on them was cast.
Downplaying his strength he did handshake,
Soft he made it like a creamy cake.
His ‘Hanuman’ role won him love,
Devotion he showed with eyes of dove.
Valiantly lifted King Kong over his head,
And threw him off the fence half dead.
His vision, his horizon made his fans proud,
They sing his paeans clear and loud.
Original ‘He-Man’ to throw shirt off,
Copy him heroes with impact half.

Whenever we remember the legendary role of ‘Hanuman’ in the ‘Ramayana’, we applaud the impeccable acting by the Rustum-e-Hind. No other hero could match the perfection he so effortlessly brought to bear on the role. Deep inside his tough frame, he hosted a very soft human being. He was loved for his decent demeanour and gentle ways. Such a stout and strong figure being bounced by disease and decay is hard to believe – but then this is nature’s way. The following lines are my attempt to the Man.
